We at AtoZ Wood Company organize regular training sessions for our team with leading industry authorities and associations, such as the FSC, Red Cross, and WWF.

WWF FSC Certification Training

In association with the World Fund for Nature (WWF), our team received FSC certification training in January 2021. The training was completed during a five-day workshop and focused on teaching the various FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) regulations and practices to educate the team. Learnings covered an understanding of the different requirements to comply with the FSC label for ensuring sustainable forest development and protecting workers’ rights.

First Aid Training

The team completed a successful first aid training program in August 2021 in association with the Red Cross organization. The training helped raise awareness about the importance of emergency treatment and prepared the team with the basic knowledge and skills of first aid treatment to handle accidents or injuries effectively.

DIRECTIONAL FELLING TRAINING WITH MFGI

As part of our commitment to sustainable harvesting, the team was trained in the modern practices of Reduced Impact Logging (RIL) through directional felling training with a leading organization. The training focused on teaching proper felling techniques and methods for Chainsaw Operators to reduce environmental impact and ensure safety. The training also involved teaching the correct methods of felling trees to ensure that the trees fall in the right direction and the maximum volume of each tree is preserved for use.

WWF EXTERNAL SOCIAL RELATIONSHIP TRAINING

As a part of our Sustainable Forest Management commitment, a successful training camp was organized to teach our staff to effectively deal with local communities or villagers in a friendly way. The External Social Relationships training and certification were completed by the team and helped us solidify our commitment towards the well-being of our forest community.

WWF Mission & Training in 2020

The team completed a 10-day training certification organized by the WWF in August 2020, covering topics such as forest management, sustainable harvesting, reduced impact logging, community protection, social aspects, wildlife safety, and more. The training also included a field trip to a major timber logging company, offering practical knowledge of the multiple aspects of the logging business, including traceability, tree tagging, GPS & compass usage, chain of custody, etc.

PPF – PLAN DE PROTECTION DE LA FAUNE

As part of the Protection Plan of Fauna, the AtoZ Wood Company team partnered with the Forestry Services to conduct training among our staff and local communities to raise awareness and stop poaching and illegal hunting practices to protect wildlife and natural forests.

WEEKLY ASSEMBLIES & MEETINGS

We are organizing staff meetings once a week at our different office locations, where our leaders provide useful information and updates related to the timber or logging industries in Cameroon. The assemblies are headed by the company CEO or respective team managers who educate the teams on rules and regulations, new company policies, and updates on current issues. We also hold regular training and educational camps for our staff.
